David P. O’Neil
Founder; Director & Chief Investment Officer
Mr. O’Neil has been working in the finance industry for over 20 years, with extensive experience in corporate finance, investment analysis and investing in the Asian region, with particular knowledge in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Hong Kong.
After graduating from Victoria University, Wellington NZ, with a BCA in Accounting and Finance, Mr. O’Neil held senior investment analyst roles at major banks and brokerages in New Zealand, Sydney and Jakarta, from 1992 to 1999.
As an analyst, Mr O’Neil developed a particular skill for finding deep value companies to invest in, which led to his role of managing an Indonesian focused private equity fund, a purchase and later listing of an Internet Company on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, and finally being a managing partner for an Independent Financial & Business Consultancy, specialising in infrastructure project evaluation. In 2005, Mr. O’Neil co-founded ASEAN Investment Management and the ASEAN Deep Value Fund.
